The quality of the water is crucial for the trouble-free and safe operation of a steam boiler plant. This is why the continuous treatment and monitoring of the feed water and condensate is also so enormously important. A condensate monitoring ensures that no contaminated condensate gets into the feed water vessel. She is at the condensate line attached and usually consists of a conductivity electrode, a pneumatic 3-way valve and a sight glass. The condensate flows through the measuring vessel of the condensate line and is checked there by the conductivity electrode using the four-electrode measuring method. If the measuring method detects impurities in the condensate thepneumatic 3-way valve automatically locks the feed to the feedwater vessel and the contaminated condensate is discharged.
