Cracks detected in stone hardening boilers

Seven out of ten condensate pot bases replaced

Special assignment for our boiler repair team. During a routine plant inspection at a sand-lime brick factory in the northern Ruhr area, the authorised inspection body detected several cracks in the stone hardening boilers and on the condensate pot bases. Our customer knew immediately what to do. One call to our service team was all it took. Our (S)Teamplayers set off straight away to carry out the necessary repairs on site.

In addition to welding the cracks in the stone hardening boilers themselves, our (S)Teamplayers also replaced seven of a total of ten condensate pot bases on the plant. Here, the fillet welds in the riser pipe showed signs of cracking. The hot condensate produced is discharged from the inside of the stone hardening boiler through the riser pipe into the externally mounted condensate container. This means that they are permanently exposed to large temperature fluctuations. This can cause the material to fatigue and cracks to form.

Condensate pot bases for stone hardness boilers have special dimensions. At Hagelschuer, we always have these special dimensions in stock. This is why our service teams can respond so quickly and carry out the necessary repair work without delay. In addition, Hagelschuer is certified as a specialist company for repair work on steam boilers and pressure vessels in accordance with HP0, DGRL and non-destructive material testing. In an emergency, only one thing counts: keeping the downtime of the plant as short as posible.
