Energy transition as a challenge

Staff surprises Georg Hagelschuer

Almost the entire workforce gathered in the hall last Friday to surprise company founder Georg Hagelschuer on the occasion of the company’s 30th anniversary and, of course, to celebrate the occasion accordingly. Completely unsuspecting, he was lured into the festively decorated hall under a pretext by his wife Petra. There he was received with applause from the employees. The trainers and the apprentices did a great job and created a cozy ambience for celebrating between an ensemble of GH container plants, rental boilers and a state-of-the-art double boiler plant. Georg Hagelschuer was visibly moved and completely overwhelmed by the sight.

Petra Hagelschuer opened the small festive program and thanked for the successful implementation of the surprise party. She particularly emphasized that the development over the past 30 years would not have been possible without such a powerful team. In the course of the day, other speakers followed, each with their own view of the history, the boss or the beginnings. Martin Eiersbrock reported on the first challenges from the early days when a 12-ton rental boiler still had to be lifted onto the truck with the help of a truck-mounted crane. At that time, everyone at Hagelschuer still thought a
20 t overhead crane would be perfectly adequate. Today, Hagelschuer has an 80 t overhead crane and the handling with the boilers and heavy transports has become commonplace. There was much laughter about anecdotes, good food, drink and beautiful celebration. Challenging projects that Hagelschuer has grown on were also a topic.

Georg Hagelschuer himself gave the closing speech. He thanked his entire team and once again emphasized the special importance of his family. There he has always found the necessary support for his decisions and his entrepreneurial activities. He also took a look at the future and the new challenges and tasks that Hagelschuer is now facing. On the one hand, there is the energy transition with the conversion of fuels and the optimization of energy efficiency. On the other hand, of course, there is the issue of digitization. We have already invested heavily in this area. Thus, an important step has already been made with the development of GH-focus App – the digital boiler attendant, an important step has already been taken. In addition, Hagelschuer invested in the renewal of the CAD system that can display photo-realistic data. A new PDM system has also been integrated.

The training of junior staff is particularly close to Georg Hagelschuer’s heart with regard to the issues of the future. In order to be prepared for the constantly growing challenges of the future , we need suitable specialists. Therefore, he said, he is counting on the training of the youth to continue to master the coming years as successfully as the last 30 years.

This success was only possible with a strong family and a committed team, whose performance Georg Hagelschuer once again paid special tribute to at the end.

A brief look at the history

Georg Hagelschuer founded his company in 1991 as a purely one-man service company for steam boiler systems. He thus laid the foundation for a continuously growing and successful family business. In three decades, he consistently expanded the range of services around efficient steam supply. Today, Hagelschuer covers all services along the value chain in the field of steam and hot water and stands especially for efficient steam supply. While 60 employees were still part of the workforce at the 25th anniversary in 2016, there are now over100 employees working at two company locations.
