Klingele Paper & Packaging SE & Co KG
Case Study: Klingele Paper & Packaging buys GH container plant
Plant already in operation before delivery to Gouadeloupe
In April 2021, Klingele Paper & Packaging SE & Co. KG took over a corrugated board plant on the French island of Guadeloupe in the Caribbean. In the fall of last year, tropical storm Fiona caused major damage on the island. The process steam supply was also affected. The adjacent river burst its banks and flooded the existing boiler house. The damage to the existing plant was immense. The age of the existing system, the damage and the strategically unfavorable low location of the boiler house made a new investment unavoidable.
The task
As Hagelschuer already provides service support for several Klingele steam boiler systems in Germany and has already delivered several boiler systems for various production sites, the project managers approached us directly with their requirements profile. What was required was a mobile boiler house for a new location at a higher point on the company premises, simple and fast integration into the existing piping system and, in particular, a fast delivery time and availability.
The attachment
Our GH container plant (5 t/h x 13 bar), planned as a rental steam boiler and equipped with a dual-fuel burner, met almost all of our customer’s requirements. Our experts at Klingele therefore offered this plant for sale.
As a rule, the various components can have delivery times of up to 30 weeks. However, the GH container system with the additional customer requirements was already completed in April. The component testing was then carried out in-house together with the ZÜS. Before the steam boiler system started its journey to Guadeloupe, a complete commissioning was carried out.
Our service technician ran the entire system under full load during commissioning. This allowed all important operating parameters to be checked and correctly preset. In addition, all safety-relevant components were checked again to ensure they were functioning correctly.
The plant is now on its way to Antwerp. There it will be shipped and transported to the Caribbean. The integration of the GH steam boiler container system into the existing piping system is being carried out bylocal staff in Guadeloupe under the supervision of our technician. The Commissioning on site incl. acceptance will also be carried out by Hagelschuer. .
