What actually are "critical infrastructures"?

Water, electricity or food, for example, are vital components of our daily lives. They belong to the Critical Infrastructures in short KRITIS. These so-called CRITIS are divided into 9 sectors and 29 different industries. Within these sectors and industries, infrastructure operators provide critical services to the general public. A failure would lead to supply bottlenecks and thus endanger public safety. Thus, it is the operators‘ responsibility to ensure safe and reliable operation of their facilities. Our customer, a pharmaceutical company (healthcare sector), has fulfilled this obligation. For the next six months, the company has rented our new Herrmann rental boiler (6 t/h, 4.15 MW, 16 bar). Herrmann is a fully equipped mobile energy center in a GH special container. Like all our rental boiler systems, it is equipped with a dual fuel burner. Together with a 50,000 l oil tank, it was loaded and delivered last Friday. In addition to Herrmann, many of our rental facilities are taking on “Critical Infrastructure” protection this winter.
