Second place in category 141 Tungsten Inert Gas Welding

Our apprentice Mika Daldrup won second place in the DVS state competition “Jugend schweißt” in Gelsenkirchen. In March, he already qualified for the state competition as the winner of the district competition in process 141 tungsten inert gas welding. Last Monday, he and our welding specialist set off for the DVS training center in Gelsenkirchen. There he had one day to prepare intensively for the upcoming exam. Then, on Tuesday , the competition started with a theoretical review. Here Mika showed excellent preparation. He achieved full marks and answered all questions correctly. Following the theoretical part, all twelve participants received their welding procedure specifications (WPS) to produce the required test piece. With great dexterity and calm, Mika set to work. After the specified four hours, an expert jury evaluated the test piece and awarded points for the execution of the various welds. Overall, Mika received 92 out of 100 possible points for theory and practice. This puts him in second place in the 141 tungsten inert gas welding category. Mika proudly accepted his certificate and the non-cash prize when all participants were honored.

Congratulations Mika! Great performance.
