Carsten Hövekamp visits Hagelschuer

The CDU mayoral candidate, Carsten Hövekamp, met Petra Hagelschuer and Georg Hagelschuer for a general discussion and to look at the family-run, medium-sized company, Georg Hagelschuer GmbH & Co. KG in Buldern. He was extremely interested in the explanations from the managing directors and from employee Michael Frerick about the company’s development in the last 30 years. The original service company has become a system provider for steam and hot water boiler systems with a product range that is unique in Germany. From planning and design to installation, the company offers customers unique, individual solutions. As an employer in the region, Hagelschuer has many interesting, future-proof jobs to offer, which became very clear during the remarks. The number of employees has grown from around thirty in 2010 to almost ninety. This is not just due to the enormous growth but also because Hagelschuer has introduced a wide range of benefits for employees in recent years. In addition to plus points such as above-average pay, a gym membership (as part of health management) or first aider training, the modern IT equipment also plays an important role.
There are even more benefits for apprentices, such as an iPad for the vocational training school. Carsten Hövekamp listened with interest to the remarks and made specific enquiries as to how Hagelschuer has handled the dearth of specialists.
Petra Hagelschuer made her point here: “Hagelschuer has been training specialists specifically for our own requirements since 2010. We offer four exciting but very different apprenticeships here. The majority of apprentices are taken on directly into a permanent job.”
Georg Hagelschuer praised the dedication of the employees responsible for apprentices explicitly but also talked more about his employees: “We have a super team that got through the crisis brilliantly with us. You shouldn’t underestimate the number of areas of application in which steam is required to generate process heat. Industrial and business companies (drinks, food, pharmaceutical, industry, building materials and insulation) rent or buy their systems from us. Hövekamp was amazed at the high market share of around 15 % of all boiler systems installed in Germany, which Hagelschuer delivered.
“This is surely”, he said, “because Hagelschuer insists on excellent quality combined with careful workmanship and that the employees enjoy a first class apprenticeship.” He was able to see this for himself during the tour of the ultra-modern production halls. Petra and Georg Hagelschuer thanked Carsten Hövekamp once again for the excellent discussion and his interest once again when saying goodbye. “It is extremely important to discuss current economic subjects on-site from time to time”, think Petra and Georg Hagelschuer.
